The University of Mauritius (UoM) is a national University in Mauritius. It is the oldest and largest university in the country in terms of student enrollment and curriculum offered. It was established in the year 1965 near Moka. The public university's mission is to meet the educational aspirations of the region.

Having been established in the year 1965, it now has more than 17,000 students including international students from more than 40 different countries. The university is divided into five faculties: Agriculture, Engineering, Law and Management, Science, and Social Studies and Humanities. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs in different fields of study.
