The University of Mons (UMONS) was officially established in 2009 after the merger of the University of Mons-Hainaut and the Polytechnic Faculty of Mons. Located in the historic city of Mons, the university is known for its high-quality research, interdisciplinary study programs, and diversity in student population. The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees across a broad range of disciplines, including applied sciences, medicine, psychology, education, economics, and translation. UMONS is especially recognized for the quality of its theoretical and applied research, which contributes to advancements in a broad array of scientific domains drawing global and societal interest. With around 7000 students, 770 of whom are overseas students from more than 70 different countries, UMONS boasts a multicultural and diverse community, making it a stimulating place to study and live.
