The University of Nairobi (UoN), established in 1956, is a public institution and one of the leading universities in East Africa. Since its inception, UoN has trained more than 170,000 graduates and currently enrolls more than 84,000 students in its 13 faculties spread over six campuses. The university's faculties are based on various knowledge disciplines such as Health Sciences, Agriculture, and Veterinary Sciences, Architecture, Business, Economics, Law, and many more. UoN is committed to shaping the future through the pursuit of knowledge, research, and community service. The institution also leads in the region's innovation and knowledge creation, with many research centres and institutes dedicated to generating new knowledge for socio-economic development. Internationally, it is known for its Glasgow-based Tropical Medicine research collaboration. UoN also prides itself on iconic alumni who are key local and international figures.
