Established in 1978, the University of Ruhuna has grown from strength to strength. Divided across three campuses - Matara, Galle and Mapalana, the university presently hosts ten faculties, including those specialising in Agriculture, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Medicine. With seven postgraduate institutes, the university places a strong emphasis on novel research and professional development, particularly in disciplines overlooked by other universities in Sri Lanka.
