Founded in 1934, University of São Paulo (USP) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large city of São Paulo, Brazil. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Brazil, University of São Paulo (USP) is a very large coeducational Brazilian higher education institution. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. The university has also branch campuses in the following locations: Bauru, Piracicaba, Pirassununga, Ribeirão Preto, Lorena, Santos, São Carlos. The University of São Paulo maintains the rich complex of museums, scientific laboratories, research centers, hospitals, libraries, even two professional theaters, eight student residences, besides basic units that offer more than 400 courses in all areas of knowledge. The university campus of São Paulo includes 7,443,446 m2 distributed in the privileged space of the Ribeirão Preto campus. More than 90,000 students circulate daily, among undergraduate, graduate students, professors, and technical-administrative employees.
