The University of Split (UNIST) is a higher education institution in Split, Croatia's Dalmatia region. Established in 1974, it quickly grew into a large, modern, and comprehensive university. UNIST offers a broad range of courses and research in fields such as sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences, and health sciences.

Overview

University of Split was established in 1974 and has since been developing into a modern, international and comprehensive university. It has more than 40 different study programs in undergraduate and graduate levels. UNIST is represented by 12 faculties, one art academy and four university departments, providing a broad spectrum of courses at postgraduate study, doctoral and specialist level. Disciplines range from natural sciences, engineering, humanities to social and health sciences. UNIST's emphasis on the interdisciplinary and cross-curricular approach fosters critical thinking and creativity among its students. The university has more than 23,000 students. The university participates in various research, arts and innovation projects, contributing to the local community and beyond. Like the city of Split itself, UNIST is characterized by a youthful and vibrant energy, embracing traditional values as well as the challenges of the future. In the QS World University Rankings, UNIST has consistent top-ranking positions among Croatian universities.
