The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) is a public medical school based in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded in 1911, UTHSC has educated and trained many of the top healthcare professionals in the scientific and clinical practices.

As Tennessee's only public, statewide, academic health system, the mission of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) is to bring the benefits of the health sciences to the achievement and maintenance of human health through education, research, clinical care, and public service. UTHSC encompasses a rich network of hospitals, clinics, and local healthcare facilities, providing unparalleled practical learning and research opportunities for students. Since its conception in 1911, it has expanded to six colleges that include Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy. The UTHSC graduates roughly 800 doctors, dentists, nurses, and allied health professionals, as well as biomedical scientists each year. It excels in several areas; to name few- family medicine, pharmacy, and audiology & speech-language pathology.
