The University of Virginia, often simply referred to as UVA, is an esteemed public research university that consists of 11 schools in Charlottesville, VA that confer 140 bachelor’s degrees, 88 master’s degrees, and 59 doctoral degrees, among others. Two-thirds of UVA students are undergraduates. The University is well-known for its professional schools, which include the School of Law, School of Medicine, the Darden School of Business, the School of Architecture, and the Curry School of Education. UVA is home to the Cavaliers who field 25 Division I teams in the NCAA and have won over 20 national championships. The University is recognized for its strong commitment to the community.
