Xinjiang Medical University

Xinjiang Medical University also known as XMU is located in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. XMU is a medical university in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. It offers diverse medical programs and has strong research facilities.

Overview

Xinjiang Medical University, established in 1954, is a unique, comprehensive and full-fledged medical university. The University is accredited by WHO (World Health Organization) and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA and SCHS. XMU comprises of over 15000 students and 2,000 faculties. The university library has a collection of more than 1 million volumes. We offer 25 specialties for undergraduates, 22 specialties for academic master, 2 specialties for professional master and 2 specialties for doctoral programs. XMU has three affiliated hospitals, directly under the university’s leadership which consist of about 4,800 patient beds. The University implements the strategy of promoting the university by relying on talents, strives to strengthen the building of teaching staff and pays great effort to form a teaching staff that are high-level, structured and full of innovation.
