Yanbian University

Established in 1949, Yanbian University (YBU) is a comprehensive institution located in the city of Yanji, in Jilin Province, China. YBU is one of the key universities in the '211 Project', which aims to elevate the research standards of higher education in China while cultivating talent for priority fields.

Overview

Yanbian University is an important comprehensive university under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province, which co-funded by Jilin Provincial People's Government and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. With a profound history and tradition, YBU has developed a coordinated development of multi-discipline including Liberal Art, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, and Management. The University embraces 24 colleges, 2 teaching divisions, and 2 basic courses teaching & research sections, with 73 specialties for Undergraduates, 6 specialties for the second Bachelor’s degree. There are 3022 staff including teaching and administrative staff in the university, among which are 1870 full-time teachers. There are 141 doctoral tutors, 615 master tutors, 2 members of Evaluation Group in the Academic Degree Committee under the State Council, 1 candidate of the New Century Hundreds, Thousands, and Ten Thousands of Talents Project, 6 candidates of New Century Talents Supporting Project by Ministry of Education.
