Overview

York University is the third-largest university in Canada, with nearly 55,000 students, 7,000 faculty and staff, and over 325,000 alumni worldwide. It has eleven faculties, including the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, Education, Health, Environmental Studies, Schulich School of Business, Osgoode Hall Law School, Glendon College, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design, and some 28 research centers. The university houses Canada's oldest film school and has produced several Oscar and Emmy award-winning alumni. Its students, faculty, and affiliates have won many major awards, including the Nobel Prize, the Rhodes Scholarship, and the Order of Canada.
